Singapore Days 2-3: Trains, Work, and Crab

Our first full day in Singapore was relatively relaxed. After a great nights sleep -- Cayman, My and I were staying in an apartment Bryan's family let us use, maid included (yes, you heard that right, she even did our laundry and cooked our breakfast every day - more on that later) -- and a hefty sleep in, we were ready to explore the city. We decided to take public transportation to go to Bryans house. The public transportation is amazing in Singapore, its so easy and cheap to get anywhere, it makes having a car essentially unnecessary. Once we safely and easily arrived at Bryans house, we immediately set back out in search of food. Riding the train was fun ;)

We decided to go to another food hall, right next to a mall! The one we chose for today was called Newton food hall, the same one featured on the film Crazy Rich Asians, and according to them, the best chicken and rice in the city (Bryan disagrees). The stall even has a Michelin star! The chicken and rice was delicious! the meat was succulent and perfectly balanced with the rice and sauce (we also got the Bok choy, which was amazing as well!). Check it out!

After eating our fill, we decided to explore the mall next to us, and found what I think was my favorite store name of the trip... (starring My)

After eating more snacks at the mall and exploring all the unique stores, we headed to Tom's house, another friend from CMC living in Singapore. We went swimming in his pool and hung out around the house. The neighborhood itself is gorgeous, Nassim street is famous for its architecture. Some the houses were huge! There was even an entire greek themed villa, made entirely of marble. We also bought a fisheye lens at the mall, and Cayman and I took some fun photos while hanging out.

After a sufficient amount of chill time, we found out that Bryan's dad had a surprise for us! He was taking us to Chili Crab! One of Singapore's most famous dishes. For good reason. It was AMAZING. I honestly liked the pepper crab even more, but the amazing crab flavor mixed with the peppery and slightly creams sauce was an unbeatable combination. Drool below.

I will probably never forget that meal. Pepper Crab on the left and Chili Crab on the right. Astonishing.

Afterwards, we rolled back to the car, and drove home - on the scenic route. We looked at the Singapore skyline and listened to relaxing music. By the time we got home, we were all basically already asleep.

When we woke up the next day, we decided to have a very much needed work day. It was incredibly windy and wet, so we decided it was perfect.

To start if off right, we decided to go work out at Bryan's gym, leading to a pose sesh.

Great photo, I know. We also found a huge spider.

Please excuse my mildly terrified screams.

Afterwards, we showered, and got to work in Bryan's house (not before I could find some good young Bryan photos of course - check these out).

Bryan looked way older in his military regalia then we expected so it was cool to see! Also shiny cool sword.

After that, the day flew by. we worked almost the entire time, and only paused to get a tour of his brothers room...

That was fun.

When we turned in for the night, we decided the next day would be our most action packed yet. And we were right...
